Nikon Roadshow

Adam told me to put stuff on here about the Nikon roadshow on Friday, so here goes..

There are like 5 different briefs to pick from - industrial estate/shopping centre/retail park, portrait of a business person, sports shoe, the family and the hat.

We've got to think about what audience we'll be targeting and fill out an invoice which was emailed to us a few days ago.

There's a prize too, ain't a clue what it is though!
Love and stuff

Has anyone got a Flickr account? If you have add me.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/deanwestphotography
Might be a good way of giving people feedback fairly quickly too?
A social wouldn't be a bad thing either!

Derelict Asylums

Just found these photos by a guy named John Godwin, thought they were the most eerie and different shots of derelict buildings I've seen so far and that they might be of use to anyone studying derelict spaces for their project.

Girls and boys,

Anyone fancy some photography on Friday? Was talking to Raechel about going to shoot some urbex stuff. Maybe the old asylum, overgrown mansion or RAF hopsital? The places are amazing and it could be a laugh!

Let me or Raechel know!

Longley was that you writing? We just went through our ideas briefly yesterday and had some ridiculously confusing convo about the exhibition. We've got tutorials next Monday so you need to get a slot! There's quite a varied selection of topics from like my stuff on aircraft to fashion, food, poverty.. Hope you feel better soon!

Hi Guys!
Erm i've never posted a bloggy thing before so here gooooes. I have just made myself a follower of this group, i don't really know whether I was meant to but it just happened! I just wondered if someone could tell me how it went yesterday and if there is anything I should know that they talked about? I am currently dying of swine flu, ok not quite but just about. Also, does anyone fancy writing some of their ideas on here not so I can copy them just sos i can see what my competition is :-) only joking, just want to know what other people are doing?

First group meeting

These are some of the notes that I made during the first meeting. All of us came up with different areas which were not very clear that needed to be discussed with the tutors so that we know exactly what we need to do for the year.

Exhibition: Is it 3 separate exhibitions or is it just the degree show and the external exhibition?

Structure/Marking: Do we have to do 4 proposals for each project? What needs to be included in each project? etc

Fundraising ideas:
  • Doing a Lincoln Calendar
  • The idea of doing something for Christmas (Cake sale, picture selling, canvas selling)
  • Sponsors - Art council, Big companies (Jessops, Canon etc)
  • Sky Diving, Bungee Jump
  • A day of doing an activity (Being tied together, dressing up etc)
  • Car boot sale
Course: All decided that the split of 70% practical and 30% written was fine

If there are anymore areas do not hesitate to write below!

Sophie
